Spanish perfect for robot live stream

It was said from a friend, which Javixae the Twitch streamer was in English, but no, it's way better Spanish. The Spanish language is better for excitement. Consider Speedy Gonzales and his various utterances "Andalay" "Ariba" etc. Like the woops and woohoos of English with actual meaning. The Spanish language is ideal for just saying stuff that is musical and exclamatory.

I'm offended by people who are offended by things

Startup tree root analogy

When one of our interns suggested adding an app store to the business, it made me think, we are trying to focus rather than expand out. It's like the root of a tree, we are at the trunk and moving down to the end of a root to find a source of water (money). We may not know exactly which root yet, so it's something like a depth first search. When we find water, we can sustain the business, and then we can trace down many more roots. (Each path from trunk to tip is a business vertical.)

Programming that lacks interface

Some programming is back from lack of interface, the guts are out. It's bad. You're changes can mess things up. There's a lot of confuration. Things have to be manually kept consistent, etc.

Change the World

People say an entrepreneur's job is to change the world. It's not. For one thing, changing the world doesn't necessarily do the right thing. For example, a butterfly changes the world by flapping its wing, but it doesn't matter. Also messing up a building changes the world but not in a good way. Nearly all good businesses change in a very specific way, making some relatively short term (year) process more efficient. Also the goal is not making people happy, drug dealers might do that... game makers too (the exception), but mostly the big businesses are about making people get more stuff done in shorter amounts of time.

Swim

Startup is like being underwater then swimming hard to the surface to pop out enought that an inveator sees you so the funds can pull you to the sky. Initial swim must be fast or you just end up sinking back down.

Scientists and technologists are not the same

Regardless of the blurring in science fiction movies, entrepreneur and scientists have very different roles. The entrepreneur finds the surface between what is marketable and what is not. Technologies must be easily built and integrated into use rapidly for the company to make money and survive. Technology might be new but likely the concepts were developed earlier, perhaps by earlier science. The scientists work on more distant technologies at the surface between what is discoverable and what is not, often funded by money gleaned from highly successful businesses (that were perhaps started earlier by entrepreneurs).

Emotions

Emotions are old (encoded into dna over millions of years) and thoughts are new (in brain recently) but all are rational.

Spirituality definition

Spirituality is the involuntary observation of everything and what effect you're having on it. Nature's invention of spirituality lets an individual human observe the whole and determine if he or she is contributing. One might say most animals don't have this, or maybe in some cases like ants, it's all they have. All of the ants actions are for the sake of a greater community are hardly any are motivated by the individual ant.

Why deep learning image recognition alone won't generate artificial intelligence and what will

Deep learning based image recognition (of cat for example) in an image is a major accomplishment for AI but that classifier won't create intelligence like a human. It may generate a pattern recognizer that equals or surpasses human ability, but not something like human intelligence. If we want a machine to learn intelligence, we probably need to make the system learn in steps similar the the way human evolved. First create a system that has an agenda (we evolved that as worms looking for food). Then, incrementally evolve a system for motion (limb control to find food). Then evolve abilities to reason and interact with the environment to accomplish the agenda more effectively. Then evolve advanced communication skills. Each one of these is a complex learning task that evolution optimized through genetics, but we would want to optimize them through some learning process like simulated annealing or some genetic algorithm. The point is that the intelligent system needs to learn first how to have an agenda, not just a recognition task. Then it will begin to be more "alive" and interactive in interesting ways.

Or emotion to help or hinder logical goals

It's a logic and emotion multilayer sandwich

Our observable universe a bubble in a soda. Lots of others. Life arises and falls in most. Maybe one can escape death and continue.

Religions are programs that run on people. The seeming nonsense of war is the struggle between two programs. The ancient Jewish faith was an extremely powerful program that (when considering other faiths derived from it also) took over much of the world.

(Perhaps part of it's power was in the idea of worshiping an invisible all powerful being rather than a physical person (like some other religions). Perhaps some other reason.)

Men created women and women created men

Billions of years of selection. Whatever men are, liars or mean or kind, those were the selected traits. Whatever women are, cute or bitchy or nice, those also were the selected traits. We all get what we ask for as a collective.

Where are your one year before you are born

Where are you one year before you are born? Splitting it into two parts: where are your atoms and where is the description of your computational system (brain architecture and such). Atoms: for the most part, you are plants and animals that your parents are going to eat, either in a field growing or in storage awaiting consumption. Some atoms will come straight out of your parents (mostly mother) so a small collection of your atoms and just still embedded in your mother and father. Computational system: this doesn't exist yet but it's going to be constructed based on genetics and environment. So mother and father are holding the innate architecture of your brain in DNA. They are also having experiences that will shape them, and their personality (along with the baby sitters, etc.) will shape your personality (your computational system). So in summary, you are plants, animals, stray atoms in your parents, and thoughts and experiences of all the people who will shape your environment.
