There's
a setting in people's brain, probably hard-wired, that is the amount of
evidence a person need classify a concept as "real." People with a low
setting tend to believe a lot of stuff that isn't true. People with a
high setting are less likely to believe anything. Evolution determined
approximately how to set this to maximize survival and reproduction, but
there are still various people with various settings. I think my
setting is jacked abnormally high, maybe too high, so that even if I
desire to to accept something as true, I cannot, unless there's plenty
of evidence.
